At AMSA, the work doesn’t start with a strategy deck. It starts with a conversation.
Sometimes that’s in the office, sometimes it’s in a shed over a cuppa. And sometimes it’s hearing a story that reminds you why this work matters in the first place.
The Australian Men’s Shed Association is the national body supporting over 1,300 Men’s & Community Sheds, helping build stronger, more connected communities and better health outcomes for men.
We’re a small (but growing!), passionate team working in sheds and communities right across Australia.
We keep it simple: back each other, trust people to get on with it, and focus on what works.
Flexibility that works for life
Work that fits around life… not the other way around.
Flexibility isn’t just a policy, it’s how we operate. Our work happens across communities, in sheds, on the road and in between — so we trust our people to manage their time and get the job done.
We know life doesn’t stop when work starts – whether it’s family commitments, regional travel, or just needing breathing room. We focus on outcomes, not hours and trust our people to deliver.

A team that shows up
Good people. Plenty of banter. Always backing each other.
People come to work for each other. The camaraderie, humour, and support across the team are what make AMSA what it is.
We work shoulder to shoulder (just like sheds) to share the load, pitch in where needed, and get things done together. Everyone wears a few hats.
The kettle gets a fair workout. Because sometimes the most important tool in the shed is a cuppa and a chat.

Purpose you can feel
Real impact. Real people. Real communities.
Everything we do supports Men’s Sheds and the men who rely on them — improving connection, wellbeing and lives across Australia.
You see it firsthand. In the sheds. In the conversations. In the quiet moments where showing up actually matters.
This isn’t abstract impact. It’s practical, grassroots, and human.
