About our shed
About Us
The Wauchope Men's Shed primarily caters for retirees and those with special needs but is open to all men who are prepared to abide by our conditions of membership. We aim to provide a safe, supportive and friendly environment for our members and although not mandatory, we encourage participation in a range of meaningful activities either as individuals or on a group basis. Those who work on personal, community and/or fund-raising projects are free to do so at their own pace and without pressure, the objective being to create an environment where members can relax, enjoy the company of others, and develop confidence and satisfaction from being productive and learning new skills through having access to mentoring, materials and appropriate equipment.
Our Shed was originally located at the Timbertown Heritage Park however following its sale by the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, the Council helped the Wauchope Men’s Shed to relocate to the Wauchope Showground.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
