About Us
The Bay Islands Men’s Shed (BIMS) at 24 Scotts Rd, MacLeay Island. QLD. 4184 invites new members to join. The Shed has a long strong history dating back to 2010. It is operational to this day with a new large well-equipped shed.
Our priority is men’s health and wellbeing. The shed is the ideal place to meet mates and create friendships, enjoy a cuppa and a yarn and just relax, or share common interests in the context of the Men’s Shed.
Anyone can support BIMS by attending our yearly market or donating cans and bottles. You can donate containers at “Containers for Change” collection point. This will go into the Men's Shed Bank Account if you quote Scheme ID C10291693. “Containers for Change” on Macleay Island is run by Running Wild and by using this scheme you are supporting 2 community organisations.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
