About Us
Our 2021 motto “Members Make our Men’s Shed! “
Russell Island Mens Shed Inc has been established throughout 2020. It is Incorporated, has a BSB. Bank account, membership of the AMSA, will apply for NFP status with the ACNC, Is in ongoing consultation with the local Council. Most importantly has management and sole control of a shed and slab ready for expansion.
Activities will start on a scale to suit the building size and the membership time requirements.
06/07/21 was our first AGM where the committee we officially voted in and development plan set for Financial year 2021/2022.
Our greatest asset is All current members.
They are active, contribute to shed decision making and enthusiastically pitch in on all projects.
Our Asset. “ALL members” have made our goals come true. As of 06/12/2022 WE have a workable SHED!
So WE are now getting tools, equipment, power, processes, safety protocols in place within the new shed ready for an expansion of membership. But processes have to be in place before membership expansion.
When all is ready we will source additional membership.
Shed Activities
Welcoming of new members. Including, involving and valuing all members in our social activities, personal member projects and tasks we perform for other island community groups.
Main activities are build membership and build a bigger shed for the growing membership.
We are proactive.
The new workable shed has been achieved. The Official opening was 06/12/2022. A grate event with many neighbouring sheds attending the day and other organisations contributing to make fantastic.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
