About Us
Our Vision: "Men's Health through Social Connection". We aim to assist ageing men in facing significant life-change issues.
Talk of a Men's Shed in Sorrento began in 2013 and was revived in 2018. A short survey through the Sorrento Community Centre showed considerable interest in supporting a new Shed. With the help of the Community Centre and the Mornington Peninsula Shire, the "Point Nepean Men's Shed" became a reality. Membership support has grown to currently 100 full members and over 60 associates.
Our "home" is the former Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad helipad in Sorrento Park, where passive and social activities occur. We now have a second building in Stringer Reserve Blairgowrie for small assembly projects, a fully-operating car hoist and the home of our "Mobile Workshop'.
We are well established within our local community supporting projects for primary schools, pre-schools and other not-for-profit organisations. All activities are always managed in a safe and sensible manner, engaging men from all backgrounds in friendly endeavours.
Shed Activities
Community Outreach, gardening, small construction, social meetings, motor group, music group, social card nights.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
