About Us
The Oxenford Mens Shed is all about friendship and men's mental health. With over 100 members the OMS is a refuge for both men and women, and we love to welcome new members. If you are interested in coming please feel free. We would LOVE to show you what goes on in our men shed.
Oxenford Men’s Shed Inc. Mission.. Is to value add to the community by providing a friendly caring safe facility, that fosters mateship, that provides a caring friendly environment that directly & indirectly addresses men’s health issues and depression. Our facilities include a well-equipped workshop and garden facilities that meets all "Workplace Health and Safety" parameters and being disability accessible, so that all members both for men members and women associate members can then have a personal release and enjoy each other friendship!
Shed Activities
Projects currenty on the go are,
- Building work benches.
- Building storage and racking.
- Restoring furniture.
- Collecting wood donations.
- Always making time for a cuppa and a chat.
- Sourcing new tool and equipment.
- Building Memberships.
We would welcome any donations of tools, woodworking equipment, timber, corporate sponsorship. Just drop us a line and we will be more than happy to collect.
COMMUNITY FOCUS & OBJECTIVES:
Positively focused in undertaking Value Adding Community Development contribution.
Acting as a central hub for community information exchange.
Supporting those in need and providing a friendly caring facility through Mateship, and common interests.
Reducing the numbers who are at risk of preventable health issues, that may emanate from isolation by providing a caring friendly environment that directly and indirectly addresses Men Health issues, and Depression.
Oxenford Mens Shed is recognised as a community based, Non-Profit, Non-Commercial Organisation that is accessible in principle for men, and realised the need, opened the doors for interested woman to become Associated Members sharing the facilities, whose primary objective is the provision of forming a safe and friendly environment, for communication with each other, and where men and woman are now able to work on meaningful personal and community benefiting projects, in a safe and friendly environment through the personal, amalgamated skills and trade practices.
Oxenford Mens Shed provides a safe environment and facility that caters for, Woodwork machining and fabrication, Wood turning, Metal work, welding and fabrication, Electronics, Community Gardening, and in turn sharing personal friendship, skills and through advising and supervising and helping others ensuring working safely and effeciently.
Provide needed training and orientation to all new memberships so that when using equipment and machinery they are competently and able to work safely and efficiently.
Providing safe, environmentally friendly and equipped workshop facilities, that meets all Workplace Health and Safety parameters and criteria.
Providing a friendly caring meeting environment where one can just come and talk and enjoy the sincere fellowship of others.
Oxenford Mens Shed strives to maintain responsible behaviour and ethical standards ensuring high standards of Membership criteria that protect the Mens Shed brand and community reputation!
Willing to assist other non-profit organisations benefiting the community by making items in need and or repairing works that can be carried out by the Mens Shed Members.
Oxenford Mens Shed has open up the opportunity to Woman to join as an Associate Member and providing them supervised access to all facilities.
When able to do so, assist worthwhile Community and National need groups by provide their services in kind and also raising funds that can help those in need!

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
