About our shed
About Us
Huntly Men’s Shed Inc. is now in its second year of operation. We have a membership base of 60 persons and operate through an elected Committee of Management with incorporation through Consumer Affairs Victoria and member insurance and public liability cover through the Australian Men's Shed Association. Huntly Men's Shed purpose is to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where men of all ages can come together to share and learn new skills, and build lasting friendships. We aim to promote mental and physical well-being through a diversity of hands-on-activities - woodwork, metal work and automotive, gardening; educational workshops, and community projects. We also have intergenerational projects i) engaging a small team Grade 5 students and ii) young adult men looking to get into the workplace. Our shed is a place where everyone can feel valued, supported, and connected, contributing to the betterment of our community and the enrichment of our member’s lives.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
