About our shed
About Us
Gympie Men’s Shed currently has 53 members (2021/2022) and is located in the Old Goods Shed and adjacent Storage shed with a covered area between the two. Along side the Goods shed we have two twenty foot containers Space eight metres apart. The containers and the space between is roofed to protect the containers and provide a welding/metal working area. We have a lease which ends in 2024.
Shed Activities
The work we do is split between members project and work for the community.
Woodworking, metal working, restoration of equipment donated to us.
We have BBQ’s at Woolworths and Bunnings.
We hold a stall at the local market twice a month to promote the shed.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
