About Us
Ballarat East Community Men's Shed is a community-based, non-commercial organisation that is open to men. Men's sheds provide a place where men can feel included and safe. The aim of men's sheds is to improve the health and wellbeing of their members.
Members of Men’s Sheds come from all walks of life - the bond that unites them is that they are men with time on their hands and they would like something meaningful to do with that time.
Members of our Shed can participate in a range of activities. The shed has extensive facilities for woodworking, fitting and machining, metal fabrication, picture framing, car maintenance and gardening.
Come along and talk to a mate.
BECS also offers sessions for women in art, woodwork and metalwork.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
