About our shed
About Us
The shed has been operating for over 10 years now. Our purpose is to foster and promote the physical and mental wellbeing of members by providing an environment where practical skills may be acquired or enhanced. We achieve this through regular sessions at the shed where members are encouraged to join us for morning tea and/or work on community fund raising projects or their own projects. Our current membership of approximately 100 has a diverse range of skills from woodworking, metal working electrical, computer, metal art and social. We specialise in woodwork, metal fabrication, precision machining and tractor restoration. One of our current larger projects is the restoration of a third Ferguson TEA20 tractor as a fundraising activity for mechanically orientated members. This has been a huge success with many members pitching in to help with their particular skill sets. We support all genders with women encouraged to join as associate members on Thursday mornings for mixed mentoring sessions.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
