The Black Dog Ride 2022 ‘Ride to the Red Centre’ brought together over 450 motorcycle riders from all over Australia to Alice Springs in the name of raising awareness of depression and suicide prevention. With the support of Black Dog Ride, the Australian Men’s Shed Association has developed and delivers our Shed Mates initiative – a framework supporting the wellbeing of Shedders all over the country.

As a way to say thanks just a small thanks to Black Dog Ride for all they do, AMSA teamed up with Alice Springs Men’s Shed to host a BIG BBQ.

At a time when the mental health of Australian males is in the spotlight, AMSA could not be more humbled by the fundraising and awareness raising efforts of Black Dog Riders and their support.

While we were there, we couldn’t help ourselves but get the riders in on what could be no better representation of our Shed Mates initiative… Mates standing shoulder to shoulder in support of mental wellbeing and health – literally!

The generous support of partners, businesses and other community organisations helps AMSA to connect grassroots Men’s Shed communities for better wellbeing and health. Special thanks all who helped us bring this together:
