AMSA Services are provided to registered Men’s Sheds and membership to the Association is for all services excluding membership that includes our discounted Group Public Liability Insurance Scheme.
Men’s Sheds wishing to join the Public Liability Group policy MUST be registered with the AMSA and MUST be a legal entity i.e. incorporated.
AMSA is the peak body representing over 930 Men’s Sheds in Australia providing practical support and assistance and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest Community Development organisations. Through strategic partnerships and diverse national initiatives, AMSA aims to improve the health and wellbeing of members and reduce the number of men who are at risk from preventable health issues that may emanate from isolation.
AMSA is a charitable not-for-profit Association and is registered as a Deductible Gift Recipient.
By being registered with AMSA your Men’s Shed will become part of our Association that is recognised by all levels of Government and the Corporate sector.
The AMSA membership fee structure is as follows:
Full Membership Level 1
Membership to AMSA that complies with the Constitution and By-Laws being by definition in name a ‘Men’s Shed’ and subscribes to the AMSA Group Insurance Scheme and is entitled to the full benefits of membership.
Membership Cost: POA -Includes the cost of this year’s Insurance Policy per person
Full Membership Level 2
Membership Cost: $200.00
Non-Shed Auxiliaries Level 3
An organisation that wishes to join AMSA that does not comply with the By-Laws being by definition in name a ‘Men’s Shed’ but wishes to subscribe to AMSA services. Non-Shed Auxiliaries cannot use the name ‘Men’s Shed’ nor will their information be posted on the AMSA Shed Locator or will they have a voting right at state level
Membership Cost: $200.00
Non-Shed Auxiliaries Insurance Level 4
An organisation that wishes to join AMSA that does not comply with the By-Laws being by definition in name a ‘Men’s Shed’ but wishes to subscribe to AMSA services including insurances. Non-Shed Auxiliaries cannot use the name ‘Men’s Shed’ nor will their information be posted on the AMSA Shed Locator or have a voting right at state level.
Membership Cost: Fees apply as per level 1
New Shed Membership
A classification for the establishment of new Men’s Sheds that gives the member full access to AMSA services (excluding insurances) for a period of 3 months.
Membership Cost: Free 3 months
Membership Levels 1 and 2 are entitled to all member services including but not limited to: SMART program, details on the website, newsletters, donations of goods and services and Corporate support as they become available.
