About our shed
About Us
Wangi Men's Shed is a community organisation with about 100 members. We have been active for a number of years. Our shed opened officially in Feb 2015.
Wangi Men's Shed provides a safe, supportive and friendly space for men of all ages to gather socially, work, teach, learn and seek fellowship with other like-minded people.
We provide programs and opportunities designed to make us feel useful contributors to the communities of Wangi and surrounding centres:
- Learning and sharing new skills with others
- Making new friends and networking with other men
- Contributing to one’s personal well being and the well being of other men
- Provision for a mentoring program for other members and for youth in the community
- Providing opportunities to learn new skills that may improve job opportunities.
- Promote and stabilise the mental, physical, emotional and economic well being of people in our community.
- Supporting our local and wider communities in times of need

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
