About Us
A project for The Forest Community Men’s Shed commenced in 2004 and with the support of Forest Lions Club, Belrose Rotary and Uniting Care Aging. Limited operations subsequently started in mid 2007, opening one day per week. The facility was officially opened on April 3rd, 2008 and was incorporated as an association in October 2013. The Shed now operates five days each week. The Shed would provide a special ‘Blokes Only’ place where men, who perhaps no longer had access to a shed of their own, could get together with other like-minded men. The is an on-going strong supporter of community projects. We are a dementia friendly Shed.
Shed Activities
Shed members craft a broad range of hand-made timber products including toys, jewellery boxes, trains, puzzles, turned wooden bowls, doll’s houses, rocking horses and the like.
As well, we accept orders and commissions for bespoke custom made items such as mailboxes, commemorative plaques, public speaking lecterns, tables, cabinets, clothes storage boxes, in fact ‘just about anything’ made from timber.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
