About our shed
About Us
Puckapunyal Community Shed is a unique facility, provided for the use of Defence members, their families and Defence civilians who are active members of the Puckapunyal & District Neighbourhood Centre (PDNC).
Whilst we are situated on a Defence base, we are independently run and funded through the PDNC (we are NOT funded by Defence).
We are currently the only men's shed/community shed located on a Defence base in Australia, but we hope there may be more in the future.
Shed Activities
Activities include: woodworking, metalworking (including welding and plasma cutting), sandblasting, spray painting, various support requests to other PDNC organisations (e.g. signage, Christmas decorations, etc).
Future projects include the development of a blacksmithing forge and a designated spray painting booth.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
