About our shed
About Us
The Copacabana Community Men’s Shed Incorporated (CCMS) was set up in 2018 as a not-for-profit association and has since been registered as a charity. Its main aim is to build a men's shed and operate it to improve the health and well-being of men in the area. A secondary aim is to provide a community space for small groups.
Supported by several generous grants, construction of the shed started in November 2021 and is now complete. The shed is currently being finished and fitted out by a group of shed members who are currently meeting one day a week. It is hoped to complete the fit-out by next month, at which point a membership drive will be undertaken and local groups will be invited to use the community space. However, enquiries are welcome at any time.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
