About Us
The Castlemaine Men's Shed provides a support program for many older men or men in need in the community. Our program is mainly built around mental health support by way of companionship and woodwork and involvement with the community of Castlemaine.
The Shed also supports numerous community activities such as building seats or other small structures for the local Council, repairing furniture or other items for the community including older men and women and support for crisis events like bushfires. The shed really provides a much needed welcoming supportive environment for men in the community who have retired, suffer ill health or have lost their partners.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
