About our shed

About Us

Located at the rear of the Box Hill Community Arts Centre on 470 Station St Box Hill. If you know you know, best parking is in Combarton St next to the community veggie garden and walking through said garden to the Shed.

Shed Activities

Woodworking, bike restoration and limited metal working. The shed operates on activities divided into streams being personal projects, shed projects and community projects. We assist community in recommissioning past loved equipment and wood from back yard sheds to the community shed. Repair and gift bicycles for needy community members and support community with maintaining their bikes for a modest donation. Our outreach program focuses on bringing needed skills for community access for example, kitchen knife sharpening day, cutting board resurfacing day and the like.

Watch — More than just a shed

The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.

AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
