About our shed
About Us
The Shed invites men from Blackwood and surrounding suburbs to meet together to enjoy fellowship, conversation, and sharing of skills and experience while working on meaningful projects.
Activities primarily focus on personal and community woodworking projects, and repairing and making wooden furniture items, toys, and nesting boxes either for sale or as private commissions.
Being a relatively new Shed established late in 2022, the Shed’s members also work on completing the fit-out of the workshop and building of workshop furniture and fixtures.
Shed Activities
Personal and community woodworking projects, repair and create wooden furniture items, toys and nesting boxes on request. Create wooden items for sale.
the Shedders also raise funds through helping at the Blackwood Lions Bargain Centre , and also staged a highly successful sausage sizzle at Bunnings at Edwardstown

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
