We’ve set our sights on sunny Brisbane for the 11th AMSA National Men’s Shed Gathering.

The AMSA National Men’s Shed Gathering is the Australian Men’s Shed Association’s premier event. Hosted every two years, we bring together the national Men’s Shed community and stakeholders for learning, development and networking.

Our goals each year are simple, to continue connecting Men’s & Community Sheds, shed members and relevant stakeholders with important knowledge, networks and information to bolster the strength and sustainability of the Men’s Shed movement.

We are excited to be joined by the Queensland Men’s Shed Association as co-host and our major partner Fair Dinkum Builds, to welcome shedders to sunny Brisbane from 24 March to Thursday 26 March 2026 for the 11th AMSA National Men’s Shed Gathering.

Our theme is centred on the philosophy of “Building Healthy Communities” – recognising the practical, social and wellbeing benefits Men’s & Community Sheds bring to men, their families and the wider community. Based at Royal on the Park Hotel & Suites, our program content will cover three key streams: Shed Development, Health & Wellbeing and Community Development.

The social program will see the return of our highly-regarded ‘Shed Tours’ on Day 1, which will end with a Welcome Reception and Trade Exhibition in the evening. Day 2 will start with a Shedder’s BBQ Breakfast followed by conferencing. Day 3 will include a second day of conferencing during the day, with the event concluding in our signature Shedder’s Dinner and National Men’s Shed Awards in the evening.

We encourage all sheds to support a member or two to get along to what we know will be another great national event.

The 11th National Men’s Shed Gathering brings together shedders from across Australia for three days of connection, learning and shared experience. The program blends practical workshops, honest conversations, inspiring showcases and time to simply catch up with mates, all grounded in what matters most to sheds and the men who walk through their doors. From health and wellbeing to leadership, community connection and sustainability, the Gathering focuses on real issues and real solutions that work on the ground.

Just as importantly, the program makes space for what makes sheds special – shared meals, shed tours, laughter, music and the chance to learn from one another. Whether you’re looking for new ideas, reassurance that others face the same challenges, or simply a good yarn with people who get it, the Gathering offers something for every shedder and leaves you better equipped, better connected and ready to take ideas back home.

Attending shedders and guests will have the choice of pre-selecting one of three Shed Tour options. Shed Tours will leave and return from Royal on the Park Hotel & Suites.

Jump on the bus and get ready for a cracking day out visiting a mix of local sheds and community spots across Brisbane. Our shed tours are all about seeing sheds in action, sharing ideas, having a laugh and enjoying good hospitality along the way. Expect warm welcomes, morning teas, shed tours, lunch stops and a few surprises as you meet fellow shedders, swap stories and get a taste of how different sheds do things in their patch.

Tour 1: Tackle – 9.30am – 4.00pm Tour 2: Tools – 9.30am – 3.30pm Tour 3: Trains & Trams – 9.30am – 2.00pm
This tour packs plenty into one big day out. Visit local sheds, enjoy good hospitality along the way, and finish on a high with a behind-the-scenes tour of Suncorp Stadium. From sheds to one of Australia’s great sporting venues, this tour is all about camaraderie, conversation and seeing some impressive spaces – with a few good yarns thrown in for good measure.

Enjoy a light morning tea at Centenary Suburbs Men’s Shed, followed by lunch hosted by Mount Gravatt Men’s Shed.

In the afternoon you’ll head off on a tour of Suncorp Stadium.

If you like making, fixing and building things, this one’s for you. The Tools tour is all about getting hands-on inspiration, visiting active sheds and a visit to Carbatec – The Home of Woodworking. Expect clever setups, impressive gear and practical ideas you can take back to your own shed, along with good company and a few tool-related conversations along the way.

You’ll start your day at Carina Men’s Shed followed by a visit to the new Carbatec Showroom.

For lunch and a shed tour you’ll head over to Wynnum-Manly Men’s Shed.

All aboard for a tour with a difference. Trains & Trams combines shed visits with a healthy dose of transport history, finishing with a visit to some iconic rail and tram locations. Expect fascinating collections, passionate volunteers, hands-on sheds and plenty of stories from the tracks. It’s a great mix of sheds, heritage and good company – with a few surprises along the way.

Start the day with model trains at the Australian Model Railway Association Men’s Shed followed by a visit to the Brisbane Tramway Museum.
