Victorian Sheds get the green light to reopen from 1 June

25 May 2020

In a statement from Premier Daniel Andrews, the Victorian State Government has confirmed Men’s Sheds across Victoria can reopen from 1 June 2020.

In his Statement the Premier confirmed community facilities, including Men’s Sheds, can reopen from 1 June 2020 with special measures in place.

Libraries, youth centres and other community facilities will be able to open with no more than 20 people in a single area, plus those needed to operate the space. That means men’s sheds and arts and crafts classes can resume.

Whilst this doesn’t mean a ‘return to normal’ as such, it’s great news for Victorian Men’s Sheds in getting back to what we all love.

We still recommend Sheds follow the steps and information provided as part of our Getting Back to the Shed Guide. And Victorian Men’s Sheds will also need to ensure the implementation of the measures required by the State Government. There are still significant penalties for not doing so.

As we receive specific and blanket confirmation regarding the reopening of Men’s Sheds from State Government bodies, we will communicate with Sheds in the relevant locations. Sheds across Australia should continue to follow the recommendations outlined in the Getting Back to the Shed Guide on a case-by-case basis.

We look forward to the resumption of our new-look Shed life very soon.
