Hey Woodchip, I’d be happy to help coordinate this with sheds in Wales, we’ve definitely heard ‘international twinning’ mentioned a few times.23 April 2020 at 8:19 pm #2471
Hi Rob… You have mail. You should get the story and a couple of pics in your email box. I understand it may be in May’s issue of your newsletter. Let me know if you have issues with the format or pictures.23 April 2020 at 8:58 pm #2472

Hi Rob… I,m glad you like the story. I hope others around the world see the value of working with ‘youths at risk’ and do the same.
I think AMSA has done a great job allowing this forum to happen. Well done AMSA.
I look forward to seeing your next newsletter for April, and the one in May with Jacksons story.24 April 2020 at 7:59 am #2474Malcolm WorthParticipant
Hi Dave, Malcolm Worth from the Colwyn Bay shed here. In Wales we have a new independent project called Youth Shedz,Cymru, The Youth Shedz project is a new initiative that hopes to provide a safe place for young people to explore who they are, to develop pro-social relationships with suitable role models, develop and learn new skills. The first Youth Shedz project is starting in Denbigh but the vision is that every town in Wales will eventually have their own project. There are many people in the community who enjoy giving their time and skill set to work with young people and this will be a place for those opportunities to take place. Young people need to be listened to, encouraged (and challenged!) and we hope that this ‘space’ will meet them where they are at in their lives and walk with them in to a brighter future.
Their facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/pg/428youthshedz/about/?ref=page_internal I think you might find it interesting24 April 2020 at 8:24 am #2475
Hi Malcolm… I like what I see. I checked out the Facebook page for Youth Shedz, Cymru. Congratulations on starting a brand new concept. Something like this that can link the youth to older people as their mentors should certainly work. I look forward to following how this works out.
Well done!5 May 2020 at 12:23 am #2512fredhottingerParticipant

G’day Fred… I have just read your April newsletter and you have put together an excellent array of stories. I particularly like the story about ‘Glyn Glue’. He would be a fascinating character to work alongside.
Incidentally, what program do you use to put the newsletter together?
Keep up the great work mate.7 May 2020 at 12:30 am #2543fredhottingerParticipant
Hi Dave………glad you liked the newsletter. We tried this out in Microsoft Publisher to start with but moved to using the Adobe Creative Cloud. The license is a bit expensive as you have to pay monthly but seems to work well. The big plus for us is that we get to learn how long the newsletter is read for. Hopefully it will guide us to produce better publications………..Regards Fred7 May 2020 at 9:36 am #2544
G’day Fred… Thanks for the info. I am not sure how you can improve the newsletter, it is well laid out and a good array of stories. If you do manage to improve the layout, I would definately be interested in seeing it.
Keep up the great work mate.

We have a slightly different word as well, but I was being polite!!! I didn’t want the moderators to sanction me – that would be a bad look. Sometimes also called ‘bovine excrement’ .
