About our shed

About Us

The Guyra Men's Shed welcomes all community members to come along and share your wisdom.

There’s no entry or hire fee or any complex membership forms to deal with, just a compulsory coffee break, lol.

Our tools have been purchased and donated with softwood use only in mind.

All who enter must:

Show respect to others,

Sign our daily register (for insurance purposes),

Follow direction with powered equipment, and

Enjoy our free coffee.

A donation is expected (if you can afford it) if you use and take home shed timber or stock.

We are a community based group that is supported by The Guyra Shire Council, New England Community College (GALA), Jobs Australia Enterprises Ltd and Dasha's Hardware & Building Supplies. This support helps us focus on Men’s Health issues within our community

Men (and women) involved at their local Shed report increased self-esteem through participation and learning new skills; de-stigmatisation of experiencing mental health and de-stigmatisation of prevalent social issues related to mental health.

Watch — More than just a shed

The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.

AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
