About our shed
About Us
We were established only 8 years ago, with limited resources and facilities, but we are growing and expanding our footprint with the acquisition of an extension to our small member’s room, where power tools and equipment are to be set up in the coming months for member use and training. A large outside paved area with an overhead awning is scheduled for completion by the end of June, which will help greatly in providing a useful work area for Men’s Shed activities. Current membership is 21.
Shed Activities
Meet regularly (weekly) to provide a congenial atmosphere where men can relate to each other, learn new skills, socialise and discuss issues of common interest, directly support members in need of physical or mental assistance.
Set up workshop equipment in a recently acquired building adjacent to our current small meeting room, and train members in the safe and proper use of power tools and equipment.
Generate operating funds by engaging in local fundraising activities, under the Gundaroo Men’s Shed banner, which also helps promote the Men’s Shed culture.
Get actively involved in community activities, like local park maintenance, support for individuals in our community in these tough times, support for ANZAC day events, community market day events.

Positive impacts
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.
