SUMMARY:Men's Shed Week 2025
DESCRIPTION:Men’s Shed Week is an annual event that aims to raise community awareness\, knowledge and interest in Men’s & Community Sheds around the country. We celebrate the week following Father’s Day each year. In 2025\, Men’s Shed Week will be held from Monday 8 September to Saturday 13 September. \nMen’s Sheds are vital community investments delivering programs and activities that foster community spirit and contribute to building a more inclusive Australia. SUMMARY:Men's Health Week 2025
DESCRIPTION:International Men’s Health Week is held globally each year\, this year 9-15-June. It serves as a vital reminder of the importance of men’s health and encourages communities to support the wellbeing of men and boys. \nThis week goes beyond just physical health—it also shines a light on mental health and emotional wellbeing. It’s a time to address the unique health challenges men face in Australia and around the world\, and to promote activities and habits that can benefit their health all year long. \nWith nationwide events\, campaigns\, and discussions\, Men’s Health Week sparks awareness and encourages action to improve health outcomes for men and boys. \nThis year’s theme is See Your GP \nThis year’s theme — See Your GP— is designed to encourage timely check-ups and preventative care\, with a focus on reducing avoidable illness through early intervention. \nThe Challenge \nTwo-thirds of Australian men put off seeing a doctor when they notice a health issue\, often trying to manage it themselves or waiting until it worsens. This hesitation means missed chances for early intervention — turning small concerns into bigger\, harder-to-treat problems. \nThe Opportunity \nWe have a chance to shift the conversation and change behaviours. By empowering men to take action sooner\, we can help prevent serious health issues before they escalate \nMen’s Health Week Event Packs \nRegistrations open now – packs will be allocated on a first come\, first serve basis (15 available). SUMMARY:Men's Shed Week
DESCRIPTION:Men’s Shed Week (1 – 7 September) is an annual celebration of ‘all things shedding’ led by the Australian Men’s Shed Association. \nThis year’s theme is ‘Send him down to the Shed’   \nMost men are introduced to a shed by someone else – it may be their wife or daughter who suggests they go look at a shed\, or a son\, niece or nephew – or even their neighbour.  With this in mind\, the theme is based around targeting people who know an older male who may enjoy and benefit from joining a shed. \nDuring Men’s Shed Week\, we’ll be promoting to people who know an older man who: \n\nmay be feeling isolated or lonely\, maybe feeling isolated or at-risk of isolation in the future\nmay be retired or semi-retired\,\n\nto encourage them to “send him to the shed!”  This could also include the men themselves\, who see the campaign. \nThe key message will be: \n This Men’s Shed Week\, if you know have a brother\, uncle\, father or neighbour who might benefit from some conversation\, meeting some new mates\, learning a new skill\, send them to the shed! \nThe 2023 AMSA Member Survey told us that attracting new members was one of your biggest challenges – 58% of sheds were seeking assistance in shed sustainability and 50% were seeking help in promoting sheds. This campaign aims to create renewed awareness of sheds and introduce potential shed members. \n You can get involved in this campaign by hosting a shed event or Open Day. You might also like to tailor our template media release to encourage local blokes to check out your shed. \nShed Resources \n\nMen’s Shed Week Event Organiser’s Guide\nSocial media tiles available soon\nMedia release template available soon\n\nThis year’s events also include the 10th National Men’s Shed Gathering and the announcement of the 2024 National Men’s Shed Awards.
