The Men’s Shed Trading Post
The Men’s Shed Trading Post Facebook Group is set up to provide the Men’s Shed community with a platform to promote shed events and buy, swap and sell items. Sheds may also use this forum to call out for items they require.
This group is not for the purpose of selling market wares (you’re not here to make a profit out of other sheds) or personal items, or promoting local community fundraising initiatives unless they are relevant to the Men’s Shed community.
The idea is that this is a group to share and connect across the Men’s Shed community – not for the purpose of profiting sheds or external individuals/organisations at the expense of others in the Men’s Shed community.
Unacceptable posts will be deleted by AMSA moderators and membership to this group may be cancelled.
The Men’s Shed Trading Post Facebook Group is a Public Group. However users are required to request membership to the group. This is done to prevent third parties promoting products for sale or acting in ways not in line with the purpose of this group.
Once members of the group, users have permission to post. All posts will require approval from an AMSA moderator prior to being published.
During regular business hours, AMSA moderators will endeavour to approve all eligible posts within two (2) hours of posting.
Outside of regular business hours on weekdays, AMSA moderators will endeavour to approve posts within 12 hours of posting.
Outside of regular business hours on weekends, AMSA moderators will endeavour to approve posts within 48 hours of posting.
Posts will be deleted by an AMSA moderator if they:
- Contain swearing, or are offensive or accusatory in nature.
- Attempt to sell or promote goods or services in a way that is not in line with the purpose of the group.
- Do not relate in any way to the purpose of the group.
- Have passed an expiry date (for example; all goods sold, event occurred, offer expired).
Members will be advised by direct message if a post is deleted and the reason for deletion. This advice will be given after the post has been deleted. Members may be given the opportunity to repost by removing the offending material.
Members may be removed from the group depending on the circumstance, at the discretion of AMSA. This user will be advised that their membership has been ceased via direct message, following removal from the group.
AMSA encourages users from the Men’s Shed community to join the group to post items/events on behalf of their Men’s Shed.
Where an external party contacts AMSA with goods or services to donate to Men’s Sheds, AMSA may post on behalf of the external party.
AMSA may post shed event promotion for shed events or AMSA events.
AMSA may post special offers for sheds on behalf of AMSA partners or supporters.
