The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) is the national service provider supporting more than 1,200 Men’s, Women’s and Community Sheds and is recognised as one of Australia’s largest male-based community development organisations.
AMSA was established in 2007 by a collection of Australian independent community-based Men’s Sheds to represent, support and promote the Men’s Shed movement. It was founded on the principle of sharing information between sheds and those communities wishing to establish and operate a Men’s Shed. It acts as a central hub for information exchange.

Join the conversation, Shed community
Many men, especially after retirement, find themselves alone, often living in isolation and needing to connect with their community and find new purpose but aren’t sure how. Others just want to learn a new skill or revisit old ones. AMSA have created a number of channels to help continue the discussion outside of the shed. Jump in and join the conversation today.

Beachmere District Men's Shed
If there’s one thing you’re sure to find at a Shed, it’s a laugh. And in the case of Beachmere District Mens’ Shed sometimes it’s not even on purpose!
“One of our members, Reg, has been doing it tough for a few years with health problems and the recent loss of his partner. We haven’t seen him at the Shed for a good while.
We thought we would take a photo with our members holding up individual letters that spelt out “Thinking Of You Reg”.
Well, we thought this would be something simple to do but in reality it was like mustering a herd of blowflies. They were all over the place. And, the result ended up saying “Thinking You Of Reg”.
