Councils: Working with Men’s Sheds to create stronger local communities

With over almost 1000 Men’s Sheds now operating throughout Australia, nearly all local government areas have at least one Men’s Shed. We know that great things happen when Men’s Sheds and their local council get together!

Quite often local councils and Men’s Sheds have a close working relationship. So this year at the Cabot’s 7th National Men’s Shed Conference the Australian Men’s Shed Association wants to start a journey to take towards taking things to the next level.

We’re inviting council representatives to join us in sunny Surfers Paradise to meet with other council community engagement offices and shedders from far and wide, where we aim to facilitate discussions between Men’s Sheds and councils from all around Australia – for the benefit of all.

We’ve even dedicated a session in our program to a discussion about practical examples of successes and opportunities for councils to work together with Men’s Sheds in their catchment.

Come along, and be inspired by shedders from around the country, and the world, to enhance your council’s relationship with the local Men’s Shed.

Visit the conference website for more information and registration.
